Skip Bork, a member of the Ides of March, wowed the large crowd at the Londonderry High School as he sung “Vehicle”, his band’s hit that peaked at #2 in 1970. This song is familiar as “I’m Your Vehicle, Baby” to folks of a certain age.

Rock Star Skip Bork Sings "Vehicle"
Skip played drums and sang lead vocals for the band, which he described as a “One-Hit Wonder.” The song “Vehicle” knocked the Beatles out of the #2 spot, but could not knock Elivs Presley out of the #1 spot.

I as a newcomer to the area was greatly dissapointed by the childrens activities at old home days, supported by the YMCA. There were no water games on an incredibly hot day. The YMCA said that usually someone brings in the water balloons and stuff, but on the hottest day of the year someone forgot The prizes awarded for the few games that the kids did do were ring pops while the prizes for cones at mcdonalds and cracker barrel renained untouched throughout the day. Are’ nt they sponsoring events? What happened to all of those sponsored coupons? Very Dissappointing I will try derryfest to try to please my kids.
James,
I would also suggest you try Kidz Night, Thursday night before the Saturday Old Home Day activities.
That’s interesting what you said about the coupons being unused.
Thanks for leaving us a comment and we will try to improve the situation for next year’s Old Home Day.
Take care,
Mary

Sorry James, you sure missed some great watermelon eating contests, and prizes at bingo under the pavilion. You should give it another try, it reminded me of Disney World, everything was so spread out and so active it was hard to select what to do!
